Amartya Sen- Noble Laureate

Dr. Ahmed attended a banquet given in honor of Amartya Sen the Noble Laureate on Friday, April 24th 2015 at University of Texas at Dallas.

Amartya Sen is an Indian Intellectual economist who received Noble prize in 1998 for his research on "Fundamental problems in welfare economics". He served as Professor of economics and philosophy at Harvard University and named as Chancellor of the new Nalanda International University in India. He is a thought leader and a passionate advocate for women's empowerment and gender justice. The new republic named him as one of the top hundred thinkers who have defined our century.

He gave a key note speech at University of Texas at Dallas on Women: Survival and Empowerment.
